Matrix Cinema presents LUNAFEST

Lunafest Film Festival (Midland) – Matrix Cinema will present Lunafest at the Midland
Center for the Arts Little Theater on Saturday, October 13 at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be
provided. Tickets ($8) may be purchased at the Midland Center for the Arts website or box office.

The fall series of MATRIX:MIDLAND Cinema includes LUNAFEST, a national traveling festival of short films by…for…and about women. 100 percent of all proceeds are donated to charity – 15 percent to the Breast Cancer Fund and the remaining 85 percent of proceeds go directly back to hosting community organizations...(Shelterhouse!)

LUNA, the makers of a nutrition bar for women, provides national exposure for emerging female film makers, through LUNAFEST. LUNAFEST promotes women filmmakers, raises awareness for women’s issues, and supports worthy women’s nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

A national traveling festival filled with stories of reflection and whimsy, hope and humor, grace and perseverance, LUNAFEST films are renowned for celebrating the talents and stories of women. This season’s program of nine selected films will compel discussion, make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings and motivate you to make a difference in your community. Incredibly diverse in style and subject matter, LUNAFEST is united by a common thread of exceptional storytelling – by, for, and about women. Refreshments will be served in the lobby immediately following the screening. Presented in collaboration with Shelterhouse, recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
